Syntax: stance phalanx

While in phalanx stance, the group leader will be more likely to be attacked
by aggressive monsters and non-leaders will be less likely. If the group
leader is not part of the formation, the aggie deflection for followers
will not function and vice versa.

Like all Soldier stances, this skill ends if you are magically transported.

The groupstat command will display which of your group-mates in your current
room are in which formation.
