The drider race were originally conceived as a curse by the Gods on the followers of Lloth after her initial failed attempt to ascend to divinity. Eventually they embraced their altered state and took it as a sign of devotion to their Allmother. With the recent successful apotheosis of the Idol Lloth to her deific form as Annakinesia, the driders are now emerging from the shadows and staking their claim within Midgaardia.

They are known for being excellent archers and their affinity for shadows, along with their natural dexterity makes them elusive rogues for a race their size. They are reasonably adept spellcasters in most schools of magic but their long racial devotion to Annakinesia has instilled a relatively strong grasp of the Divine arts.

The only way to become a Drider is through the drow race and the remort command.

  • Abbreviation: DRI.

Their DC quests are the same as Demonseeds.

Driders are traditionally drow that have been transformed from the waist down so they have the body of a spider.

Driders are a new remort race (Aug 1, 2023) that are still being learned about. For the month of August they could only be unlocked via blood seeds found in The Bond (see board 7, note 132). On September 1, 2023, they became a normal remort race, currently only from Elf, Drow and Half-Elf. High Elves can rebirth Drider.

They are a stealthy race with high dex that are very good at archery, however they do not seem to have a melee damage modifier.

Driders appear to get slightly more hitpoints and mana then human (105% of human estimated).

They are not nofail at 95%. The receive a spell cost reduction of 5% for divine spells and 2% for arcane spells. Divine spellcaster Driders get access to a very nice chest armor at lord: Shawl Of The Spider Goddess effectively reducing their cost for divine spells by 14.5%.
