Orcs are cruel and brutal humanoids that tend to live in tribal societies ruled by force. They respect only strength, and are fierce fighters. Their features are often described as "pig-like" in nature, but they vary greatly in appearance with the exception that they are all ugly to grotesque. Over the years, orcs have always tried to bring out the most destructive and warlike qualities within their race, for they consider these traits to be noble marks of the Gods' favor. Following their own tribal customs, they consider the flesh of most of their enemies to be quite a delicacy. Orcs are slightly stronger and faster than humans, and are a lot hardier as well. They are generally stupid in nature, and while there are orcish shamans, it is rare to see an Orcish spellcaster. Orcs all have the innate ability to see in the dark, for it is usually in darkness when their ambushes and raids on friendlier races occur. These fearsome creatures often go berserk in battle, and enter what can often be described a frenzy-like state. Once they have destroyed their enemies, they will often butcher the carcasses for food.

  • Abbreviation: Orc.

Diplomatic Corps

Orcs may participate in the Diplomatic Corps every 10 levels at lowmort. All Orcs should report to Khazdul when they are ready to begin.

Comments

Many people would say, to start with you can go Orc for melee or Elf for caster and that's all you ever need to know.

Orcs have several good advantages and a low enough TNL to support them:

They have high hp pools regardless of class, (though a low mana pool, also regardless of class), racial damage modifier, high strength and dexterity, and also racial frenzy.

These allow orcs to serve well as brute classes, as well as tanking classes such as monks or rogues.

They also have a good archery modifier, making them one of the desirable races for archers, alongside elves, centaurs and harpies. Their stealth is also not bad.

At spell-casting, they are not as horrible as would be expected of an orc, though they are definitely a failure prone race with lowish mana reserves.
